Founded by Antonio J. Camarda, Camarda Music Company has been at the same location in Salem, Massachusetts for over thirty years. We are proud to be an important part of the wonderful, motivating music programs offered to our students in Essex County. We have participated in these programs for well over 40 years.
Mr. Camarda's own music back ground is extensive. He studied at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and was a Tanglewood Scholarship student. He studied clarinet with Daniel Bonade, the dean of American clarinet teachers, for 4 years in New York. As well as serving 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Bands, he was a solo clarinetist with the Salem Cadet Band under Jean Missud and played solo clarinet with the Ringling Bros., Barnum & Bailey Circus in Boston for 11 years.
A former member of the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington, D.C. and the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Camarda also performed with the Boston Symphony and the Boston Pops. These activities offered him the opportunity to perform under many internationally famous conductors. In addition, he has taught instrumental music in the public schools of Salem, Danvers, Lynn and Lynnfield.
